Extreme Weather Impacts Dynatect Manufacturing Supply Chain

News

**Updated 1/31/2019**

January 31, 2019

UPDATE: Dynatect declares Force Majeure.
Polar Vortex Brings Freezing Temperatures to the Midwest, Northeast, and Great Plains Regions. Product delivery will be impacted.

Loyal Customers,

The extreme winter weather conditions in the Midwest continue to bring historically low temperatures to the Midwest, Northeast, and Great Plains regions of the United States.   Both snow and extreme temperatures below -30° F have disrupted Dynatect’s in-bound and out-bound freight carriers.  Many freight carriers are closed at this time.

This Act of God leaves us no choice other than to declare Force Majeure effective January 31, 2019.  Dynatect will continue our efforts to fulfill your orders and evaluate alternative freight solutions to mitigate the causes beyond our commercially reasonable control.

So, how does this affect your order?

  • Gortite and Gortrac operations will continue suffer substantial disruption this week as well as next as a result of weather
  • Many of our employees have safely arrived at our Wisconsin and Indiana facilities yet we have been operating at significantly reduced staffing for 2-3 days this week
  • Deliveries of production supplies have been delayed and trucking for both outbound and inbound shipments had been called off for the past several days.
  • We have received notice that trucking disruptions, especially LTL, may extend several weeks as the supply of available trucks and drivers is becoming out paced by built up demand

Here’s how Dynatect is continuing to respond:

  • We are working to identify any carriers that can deliver for product that is ready to ship
  • We will provide updated ship dates next week as freight carrier availability becomes clearer
  • To mitigate impact to On Time Delivery we have maximized weekend production and will require significant in week overtime beginning Monday 2/4

Polar Vortex Brings Freezing Temperatures to the Midwest, Northeast, and Great Plains Regions.  Product delivery will be impacted.  Here’s how Dynatect is responding.

Loyal Customers,

Extreme Winter weather continues with a polar vortex, bringing historically low temperatures to the Midwest, Northeast, and Great Plains regions of the United States.  The harshest conditions are expected from North Dakota to Northern Illinois, affecting our facilities in New Berlin, WI and Valparaiso, IN.  There will be a prolonged stretch of such dangerously low temperatures that frostbite can occur within minutes of being outside.

So, how does this affect your order?

  • Gortite and Gortrac operations will suffer substantial disruption this week as a result of weather
  • Most of our employees will not be able to report to work for 2-3 days this week
  • Deliveries of production supplies have been delayed and trucking for both outbound and inbound shipments had been called off Monday and we have received advance notice today of trucking curtailment for Wednesday and Thursday
  • You can expect LTL service into and out of the Midwest to be impacted through early next week

Here’s how Dynatect is responding:

  • We are working to identify any carriers that can deliver for product that is ready to ship
  • We will provide updated ship dates early next week
  • To mitigate impact to On Time Delivery we have maximized weekend production and will require significant in week overtime beginning Monday 2/4
