Heat-Sealed Way Cover Bellows
Way Cover Bellows
Heat-Sealed bellows are typically used to protect machine components, in a wide range of environments, where small particles, light abrasives, occasional oil, chips or liquid are present. These bellows are made from a single sheet of thermoplastic-coated fabric which is pleated and then heat-welded to a PVC stiffener at each fold, creating a sealed barrier. Depending on application requirements, the cover can typically be produced without stitched holes or seams. Heat-Sealed bellows are commonly produced in a variety of shapes to protect machine ways, ball screws, linear rails and more.
For enhanced protection against sparks and chips, a Heat-Sealed bellows can be turned into a Gordillo bellows – accomplished by attaching protective stainless steel shields to the top of each convolution.

For bellows covers with stiffeners, extra fabric wrapping offers improved durability and enhanced protection against contaminants from multiple angles. The standard design has fabric on the out sides of the legs only. For exposure to contaminants or spray from sides or bottom of cover, Dynatect can optionally wrap both the sides and bottom of the legs with fabric.
Heat-sealed way cover bellows have a stiffener profile that can be customized to fit dovetail ways and linear rails. Please include a CAD drawing or sketch when requesting a quote. If available, provide the linear bearing’s make and model. We’ll fabricate the inner profile and the outer shape accordingly.

For custom internal stiffener profiles, please send a drawing or 3D model when requesting a quote. Stiffener material selection is subject to technical review based on application parameters; 0.031” PVC is common and a good starting point.
Purpose: Tie strips help the bellows fold and unfold in a predictable, repeatable pattern
Function: The tie strips help distribute load evenly across the entire length of the bellows.
Note: For Tie Strips Select “No” by default; Dynatect engineering will review all applications to determine necessity of tie strips

Yes, they are commonly used where light coolant, oil, or moisture exposure is present. Excessive amounts of liquid may collapse the bellows. Contact our team to see if your application is suitable.
