Folded Bellows

Folded bellows are often used in applications requiring the cover to be air and light tight, such as laser bellows.

Folded covers are constructed out of elastomer-coated or thermoplastic materials. Sealed covers are achieved through multi-layered adhesive bonded materials.

These covers can also be used in applications requiring separation of internal and external environments

Square or rectangular designs can be tapered, including offset configurations.

Features & Benefits

  • Completely sealed from light, air and dirt penetration
  • High durability – can withstand high cycles and rapid movement
  • No tooling charges

Typical Applications

  • Operating environments involving weld spatter, heavy chip loads, abrasives, and hot sparks that would quickly damage a traditional bellows
  • Multi-axis protection for machine components
  • Laser beam paths, air ducts, cameras, copy machines, enlargers, imaging equipment
  • Busbar bellows —  These covers protect the bus bar transitions/flex-connectors from the environment even when there are XYZ-axis misalignments and vibration. Ideal for data centers, power plants, generators, electrical turbines, substations, and industrial facilities (including cement, steel, pollution control, and textile).
