How to Specify Brackets

Specify both bracket arrangement # and direction of mounting holes. Mounting holes can be inward (IN) facing or outward (OUT) facing.

Example: #1 arrangement and inward facing holes = #1-IN

Example: #4 arrangement and outward facing holes = #4-OUT

Standard Mounting Bracket Arrangements

The arrows point to the mounting surfaces of the chain, which are the flat areas on either side of the chain that are used to secure it to a machine or piece of equipment. These surfaces are part of the brackets or flanges (also known as mounting brackets) that are attached to the chain.

The bracket configuration number is the same for both ends of the chain and identifies the relationship between the mounting surfaces of the brackets and the curve of the chain.

Hybrid Alignment Guidelines:

• Systems without support rollers do not require any additional alignment
• Roller Span = maximum distance a track can span from support to support (Bracket, Roller, or Curve)
• Systems with support rollers require alignment to ensure carrier engages support rollers properly
• Alignment only required for 1⁄2 the travel length (area where the curve travels)
• Continuous support surface required and must be level within 1⁄2 ” along length the curve travels
• 60.00” ± 6.0″ (5ft. ±1⁄2  ft.) spacing for Alignment Upright (PN0403577 individual upright)
• Alignment Upright should be placed maintaining a ±1⁄4“ alignment with the center line of the path of travel
• Alignment Upright should maintain a 1⁄2 “~3⁄4 ” per side side to side spacing
• Alignment Upright only required on systems utilizing Support rollers and only for 1⁄2 the length of travel

• Continuous Support & Alignment (CS&A) design should be used for systems that do not have a continuous support surface
• CS&A should be placed maintaining a ± 0.25” alignment with the center line of the path of travel
• CS&A should maintain a 1⁄2 “~3⁄4 ” side to side spacing
• CS&A only required for 1⁄2 the length of travel

Benefits:

10% Less than a traditional track and trough system.

The hybrid system eliminates the expense of purchasing and installing Guide Troughs which required for the entire length of travel on traditional track/trough systems.

In the non-opposed center or offset applications, the additional cost/complexity of a raised UHMW (Igus), Roller (Gleason), or raised platform/shallow trough section (Gortrac and Kabelschlepp) is required for travel forward of fixed end.

• How is installing a Hybrid system easier than installing a track and trough?

The Hybrid system does not require a full trough installation.

Only simple support/guidance required is required in the retracted area.

In the extended area, no support/guidance is required.

The elimination of the lowered mounting height requirement reduces the depot area/length.
