Overview
Retractable Roll-Up Protection for Tanks
Although there are several types of tank cover available, a roll-up design takes up the least extra space when retracted. A metal roll-up cover can add protection against objects falling into the tank. The integration of motorization simplifies and streamlines the operation of opening and closing covers of nearly any size. Dynatect specializes in manufacturing custom tank cover systems, providing a range of options including motors, controls, PLC interfaces, and diagnostic switches. Roll-up covers equipped with a motor drive can offer full electric control for forward, reverse and stop functions. The shades are crafted with a continuous stainless steel top surface, complemented by aluminum or stainless steel support ribs designed for large tanks. Dynatect can provide the necessary rails for the cover (by request).

Customized Tank Cover Designs
Previously, the customer used wooden and metal plates as tank covers, requiring a crane for access and occupying valuable space when set aside. Seeking a more efficient solution, Dynatect proposed an aluminum folding cover. This choice was motivated by insufficient mounting space and the need for separate covers for each tank.
The proposed cover, measuring 90” long x 61.5” wide overall, features panels that hinge open, allowing manual and incremental tank access during operations. This not only addresses specific operational needs but also enhances efficiency.
Tank covers play a crucial role in addressing various issues, including containing evaporative emissions, preventing contamination, controlling temperature, and limiting worker exposure around open tanks.
Tank covers may utilize either a hinged mechanism for folding or a roller mechanism for rolling up. This eliminates the need for manual lifting or crane use, streamlining operations and eliminating the need for cover storage. Dynatect offers both design approaches, showcasing a commitment to collaboration and finding practical,
cost-effective solutions.
