Dynatect’s Gortite® VF Automated Machine Safety Door is an effective solution for increasing productivity and ensuring industrial safety. This machine guarding door is designed to safely isolate hazardous operations from other industrial processes, material, equipment, and people, while still providing easy access to them. It can be used in conjunction with existing machine guard panels on each side of the door to create a complete automated guarding system and enhance the separation of environments further.
The Gortite® VF door is a high-speed industrial roll-up door that minimizes cycle time and maximizes production in industrial environments. Its application emphasis is on being used as a secure barrier in automated processes and can also function as an industrial safety curtain. The door can be equipped with a LiDAR scanner, which brings the door to a full stop in a matter of seconds, providing an additional layer of safety for workers and equipment.
Easy Installation— Modular design includes (2) baseplates with leveling screws, (2) legs, (1) header with pre-rolled curtain assembly and gearbox attached, and (1) motor. Unit requires no cutting/drilling/tapping or welding for assembly. Free-standing design not dependent on machine or walls for support. (Anchoring/securing to floor is
installer’s responsibility).
Simplicity — All sensor cables terminated on door frame with industry standard quick disconnects. Mounted on the motor-side leg column for accessibility and convenience.
Accessibility — Removable aluminum leg covers provide access for options, installation, commissioning, travel adjustment, and preventive maintenance.
Adaptability — Integrated T-slots on legs and header allow for structure and accessory mounting. Legs feature T-slots on side and back. Custom bracketry and wall-mount adaptation available.
Appearance — Attractive appearance enhances your modern facility. All aluminum and steel external surfaces are powder coated (base plate, columns, covers, and top roll header.)
Reliability — Door mechanism moves securely on a reliable guidance system for smooth, low-wear operation. Proximity sensors eliminate the need for mechanical rotary cam switches
Save Space— Use of a physical barrier with safety sensors can save up to 30 square feet of manufacturing space. Using the ANSI minimum safety distance formula, the door limits the depth penetration factor and average approach speed, allowing closer location of the safeguarding device:
Ds = Safety Distance K = 63 in/sec (OSHA hand speed) Ts = Stop Time (in milliseconds) Tc = Response time of machine control (in milliseconds) Tr = Response time of presence sensing device (in milliseconds) Tbm = Additional time (in ms) to permit normal wear of brakes
before safety distance is violated Dpf = Distance (in inches), penetration depth factor
